Long time Love

It's been a long time since I wrote anything useful. Thought of writing a poem and let me see...:)

I walk alone these days,
Thinking of the times,
I spent with you always.
Never realized how you were,
there for me,
through your smiles,
and foolish talks,
I lived a life so dear,
Leaving you alone was so painful,
I expected to see you one day,
But fate had its way,
You saw a face that made you walk away,
I never wanted to hurt you,
never wanted to trouble you,
just wanted to say how much I love you,
but never knew how to say to you.
Now as I stand miles and miles away,
the chinook winds say,
you will be back one day.
I wait for that day,
with deep breath and I pray,
for patience and hope that sway,
on sinners like me may,
receive solace and pity..
I love you...so dearly..

"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two."
